Splish-Splash and Bubbles Galore

Yes this is one of our favorite times of the day... well, evening. The funniest part about this picture is that you can tell just how Logan's hair is. We love to have fun with him. I wonder if Logan will appreciate this snapshot when he is a young man. Hmmmm....

Off for a Walk with Uncle Brandon

So this is technically ancient history already... I am slow at posting and not very chronilogically organized. These photos are from back in October '09 before Halloween.

Oh, my love for a beautiful Fall afternoon and the gorgeous leaves of an Oak Tree. My brother Brandon, accompanied me on a walk with his little nephew. Who would of thought that a 10 year old could be such a wonderful Uncle?! Well, Brandon and Scott are both fabulous Uncles!!

Here are a couple of cute shots of some quality time with Brandon in the 'Great Outdoors'!

Logan with his Raccoon beanie on! So darn cute!

My brother and I. Being the crazy siblings we are. Tongues out and lots of laughs.

Logan and Brandon.
A VERY HANDSOME DUO!

Campfire at Grandma's House

What is better than roasting marshmellows, a campfire, and family. Thanks to Grandma's wonderful location we get to enjoy fun things like this in the front yard. Pretty fabulous. No need to pack up the camping gear to enjoy a fun-filled evening out.

The Bouncy Chair... It Wasn't Love at First Sight

When we brought this invention home form Babies 'R Us we thought 'Yes, something that he will love to do when it is cold out and Mommy wants a break from being Logan's personal playmate.'

We had Logan in this chair for about 15 - 20 minutes at the store before we bought it just to make sure he LOVED what could be his new toy. Well... he played and played and played... at the store. And we thought, 'Look at us, we are so wise testing out the toy before we buy it. (Here's the best part) Why don't all parents do this?" Our arrogance sure keeps biting us in the booty. So we bought the toy because Logan LOVES the bouncy chair, right?

The next day we thought 'Let's give the bouncy chair a try during dinner time.' And lo and behold, it was a no go folks. He cried, fussed, and just was not content... IT DEFINITELY WAS NOT LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.

So Reed and I were extremely frustrated at our 'unwisely spent money' but we got over it and carried on with our lives. Mommy was personal playmate when other home-made toys would not suffice (Water bottles with marbles in it to function like a rattle, pots and pans with a humungous spatula, dad's belt, mom's purse... etc) until Daddy, super hero, Daddy came home. No I don't mean Logan's super hero but my super hero because as much as you can love your babies, it sure is nice to have a break and well... Reed he takes care of me and is a fabulous Dad... he gives me my breaks!! :o)

Then a couple of weeks later we thought 'Why not try out the bouncy chair one more time... it is just sitting here in our living room hogging up all of the space.' They are huge toys, not apartment friendly to say the least. Well, this was the result:

It might not have been LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT, but now I can say these are happy moments. And of course a happy baby means a happy Mommy!

We love you Logan and are glad you like your new toy.

Okay, Logan Officially Crawls... Backwards

It's the funniest thing. Our little boy appears to be all about trial and error. I wonder if he is setting the tone for his life... hmmm....??

Needless to say, he is definitely about babysteps. Yesterday he mastered the APPROPRIATE crawling stance and today, November 17, he crawled backwards.

I wonder how long it will take before he realizes it would be better if he crawled forward so that he could see where he was going.

Trial and error. I am sure he will figure it out. ;o)

Date Nights... a beautiful wedding in Carmel Valley! Oh, how I do love home!

My Handsome Hubby and I!
Boy does he looks slick in this shirt and tie.
I love date nights... thanks Mom for baby sitting little Logan.
Heidi Ho and me.
I absolutely love this girl. She was the blast of my past. Many good times with her at camp pico blanco, trampoline hang-outs, the dances and the boys. Well, I guess it would be wise to stop there. She is still quite the pal. Love you Heidi! You are beautiful!!
Heidi feeling out my prego belly. Yes baby 2 is on the way.
The beautiful bride, Amanda, smiles for the camera with me.
She is just a sweetheart. Never an unkind word from her and of course, I only have gorgeous friends. Check this babe out. She is an amazing wife, mom, and wonderful friend.
November 7th will forever be Amanda and Casey's BIG day!

Halloween and our Scarecrow is not that Scary :o)

The Pumpkin Patch!
That is one Large Jack-O-Lantern
and is that Logan I see peering through the nose?
Yep that's our Logan.
One of my fave family photos.
Casual, care free, and smiley!
That's us! No doubt!

My men and their beautiful eyes. Green and bright blue.
Those eyes again.
And how darn cute is this sunflower poking out of our Scarecrow's pocket.
"Logan are you there?"
We thought we might lose you amongst all those pumpkins. :o)

Here he is in his full fledged costume.
Sitting by the wagon wheel. He's so tiny in comparison.

"What Logan? What do you see?"
Clearly Logan is showing us something neat. Look he is pointing deliberately at it. Haha.
This picture is too cute and no, he can't deliberately point at anything yet. Just another perfect moment on camera.
Reed is so festive in his orange shirt, Logan in costume, and well... I am just cozy in this outfit with my awesome boots. We love Fall. Our fave season of the year, at least it is my favorite. We were married on November 3rd after all and the leaves and colors were beautiful.

Simply Precious Moments

Yes, Logan takes a bottle now too.
Here's Dad, a happy clam as Logan snuggles and chugs away at his bottle.
Of course our son is even holding his own bottle.
He doesn't do this all the time, he is actually quite use to everything being taken care of for him and he just gets to sit back and enjoy his milk. But I think the excitement of this new thing... the bottle... and how fast he gets his milk and that he gets to snuggle with Daddy had him motivated to help out. So yes he is holding his own bottle... how darn cute!
Perfect cuddle moments for Daddy and Baby!

Well, this next outfit is on the small side. Ahh... I know it's like he is an unkept child, sockless, high-waters for pants, and sleeves that don't extend the full length of his arms but, and it's a pretty good but, Mommy loves this outfit. So we got dressed up one more time for church in this darling thing and boy does Logan look handsome. Yes we are a gorgeous couple!

Mommy and Logan are all dolled up for church.

Teething & Crawiling.... Well, Almost Crawling

It's November 16th and the last 20 days have been a process to say the least.

Logan's 1st tooth arrived without any warning and Mom arrogantly said, "What's all the whining about teething. Mom's complain too much. Logan's 1st tooth has completely broke through and I didn't even notice a single fussy moment. Teeth so far are a breeze." Dun, dun, dun...

Then the 2nd tooth arrived and this one was quite a PROCESS. We had been fussy and fussy and fussy everytime it was time to go to bed and if you left him unattended for more than 10 minutes to play on his own. This whole time I was thinking... "Separation Anxiety"... not even close. Today tooth 2 arrived not even 10 days after the first tooth and the 3rd tooth is oh so close.

Poor baby. I kept thinking these last 2 months, "Where are his teeth? They haven't arrived yet. Ahh, what's going on?" And yes I am aware that not ALL babies get there first tooth right at 6 months of age. Maybe this Mommy hasn't learned all the patience she can yet. Everyone says, parenting will teach you patience. I guess my 9 months doesn't quite cut it because my over anxious attitude now has me soothing and comforting a disheartened little boy because ALL FOUR OF HIS FRONT TEETH WANT TO COME IN AT ONCE!! Sorry Logan, Mommy will TRY ;o) to never rush you again as you grow up. Love you little guy. In order, his bottom right tooth, top right tooth, top left tooth, and soon enough bottom left tooth.

Okay so the PROCESS, doesn't quite end. In the meantime, during all the teething pains, Logan is acquiring bumps and bruises and owies learning a new skill: mobility! He is trying to crawl. The funniest thing is that he leans forward from sitting position onto his hands, gets one knee turned under ready to crawl, but the other knee... well it's not going down. Instead that leg insists on resting on his foot. So Logan's attempt to crawl has looked like this for the past 20 days. Ready, imagine this: booty on the ground no more, instead booty is slightly raised; hands are down planted strongly in front of him with elbows struggling to stay locked as he leans forward placing the weight of his heavy bottom half and rather large head all on his arms; one knee is turned the right way, ready to crawl; and the other knee refuses to turn over just quite yet, instead the foot is planted on the ground with his knee bent - one leg in crawling position, one in squating position.

So where do the problems arise you ask...

Since this new found position is not one of the most stable positions, the further he leans forward the closer he gets to a full fledged FACE PLANT. Needless to say, Mommy has tried to be SUPER HERO as Logan learns to crawl but everytime she bats an eye or turns her head for a few seconds, Logan manages to attack his toy basket, bouncy chair, table leg, or just the floor with his face. Yep, we have had more than a few FACE PLANTS and I guess Logan is not just learning what teeth are like and how to use them or just how to crawl but he is also learning exactly what an OWIE is.

So let's just say the last 20 days have been a PROCESS: Logan is learning what it's like to have TEETH, to CRAWL, and to have an OWIE!

Moments to Remember

Logan attacking the balloons in front of Frostings in Lake Forest.
"I will get that balloon. Give it to me!"
Bath time and Logan has a very snazzy hair do.
Park days are his favorite.
This one was down on Jeronimo with Grandma Barnes.
Walks with Mom. Always a treat for baby and mommy.
This face is a unique one... not quite happy, not quite mad. Hmmmm....
Yeah for the old fashioned toys. Once again, the paper bowl prevails.
Wild little man with wild hair.
Hmmm.. How do I describe this one? What about, "Who is this kid anyway?" wonders Logan. Of course this is his second cousin, Nathan.
Two cuties I must say.
And yes they are just a few months apart and definitely share one thing in common...
they are babies that HAVE LOTS OF HAIR!
This picture is SIMPLY FABULOUS. I envy those eyes.

Dad, Mom, Pots & My Sippy Cup...

We sure know how to have a party.

7 Months Old and Logan has TRANSFORMED into the Cookie Monster

So, for those of you who know Logan pretty well... He is a friendly fellow. Not too crabby, cranky, whiney, or fussy... BUT... don't you D-A-R-E take his cookie away from him. Even if his salivia has dissolved every last part of that cookie because of course Logan does not have any teeth yet, so even if there is just the last little chunk of a cookie left and I take it away so he won't try to swallow the little nugget remainder whole he will...

FUSS
FLING HIS ARMS IN THE AIR
BANG HIS FEET ON THE COUNTER
SCREAM AS LOUD AS HIS LUNGS WILL ALLOW
AND BE EVER SO ANGRY AT MOM UNTIL

... I can distract him with another one of his favorite foods or toys.

So I was thinking wow my son is extremely impatient and tempermental. But, all is well! The doctor said at his previous visit that this upset nature of his is a milestone that all little ones SHOULD DO and he was glad to hear that Logan is developing so well.

Hilarious. Who would've thought that throwing a miniature size tantrum is a milestone in a healthy developing baby's life? Not me. But thankfully, ALL IS WELL. Dr. Tang you washed my worries away.

He really is quite a messy little thing!
Cute, messy, and happy as long as he has his cookie in hand!

Desert Springs JW Marriot Hotel

All three, cool in the pool!

So beautiful!
Logan love to EAT Mommy's face!

This is Logan and "Cowboy" the Parrot!

Fun at the Pool with Dad!

Too Cool!
